Hiding – in plain sight?
I’ve been hiding.
I’ve been hiding because I’ve changed. I hadn’t realised quite what a monumental shift was going on for me over the past 2 years physically, mentally and geographically.
I just went with the flow because the shifts that were happening were just life weren’t they?
It’s taken a weekend away with two good friends, Claire Rees and Catherine Pohl, who also happen to be amazing coaches, for me to recognise that the shift has impacted me so much more than I realised, and because of that I’ve hidden away.
I’ve hidden because;
♦️I no longer have very long red hair
♦️I’ve put on weight due to some health issues
♦️The social media space no longer feels safe
♦️The term ‘relationship coach’ no longer resonates
♦️I’ve been putting off to tomorrow, what I really should be doing today
The trouble is, when you’re in a room with friends who are fellow coaches and you’re talking passionately about what is you do, how you do it and how much more of it you want to do, they call you out on your avoidance tactics and procrastination. They challenge you.
So here I am, tentatively picking up the gauntlet and starting again.
It’s scary;
⭐I need to update my website – I don’t have enough new pictures to replace the luscious long red locks of 3 years ago, but some are better than none at all.
⭐I need to record more podcast episodes because I really enjoy it.
⭐I need to transition from relationship to empowerment coach because all of my clients have reported feeling empowered as a result of working with me.
⭐I need to stop worrying about what other people think (that’s a big one for a perfectionist).
⭐I need to just start, knowing it will be messy, but also knowing that out of the messiness will come clarity and order.
In short, there’s lots that needs doing, but my priority will always remain to deliver quality services to my clients – that won’t change regardless of what picture is on the home page of my web-site!
So come along with me on the ride as things get messy before they get sorted. But be reassured, that my unique style of coaching, that safety and lack of judgement I bring to every session remains unchanged, and that all of my courses and programmes are still available, as am I to deliver targeted 1-2-1 coaching sessions.
