About Deb

I help high-achieving professional women stop performing strength and start embodying it.

I’ve spent 35+ years working at C-suite level in high-performance corporate environments, I understand what it means to carry responsibility, hold everything together, and be the capable one everyone relies on.

I also understand what happens when the woman holding it all together quietly disappears.

Behind the Mask, my signature programme built around my SIM™ methodology, isn’t about fixing relationships.

It’s about identity.

It’s about removing the emotional armour.
Rebuilding self-trust.
Redefining success on your terms.
And creating a life that reflects who you truly are.

My clients don’t come to me because they’re broken.
They come because they’re ready for more.

More clarity. More confidence. More alignment. More truth.

I bring corporate depth, lived experience, emotional intelligence and grounded strategy  without fluff, drama or victimhood.

This is expansion work.

And if you’re ready to step into your next level, we should talk.

My Story

There was a time when my life looked impressive on paper.

Successful business.
Marriage.
Motherhood.
Corporate credibility.
Capability.
Strength.

I knew how to perform competence beautifully.

What I didn’t know, at least not consciously, was how much of myself I’d left behind in order to do it.

I had become the woman who could handle everything.
Fix everything.
Manage everything.
Hold everyone together.

But somewhere along the way, I stopped asking myself one question:

What do I want?

Behind the polished exterior was exhaustion.
People-pleasing dressed up as loyalty.
Over-functioning dressed up as strength.
Silence dressed up as resilience.

And a whole heap of other stuff I was masking.

The mask wasn’t obvious.
It rarely is.

It’s the smile that looks convincing.
The career that looks successful.
The relationship that looks fine.

Until one day you realise you’re operating at 70% (or less) of who you truly are.

And that quiet realisation?
That’s where everything changes.

The Turning Point

My wake-up wasn’t a dramatic Hollywood moment. It was quieter than that.

A gradual understanding that the most important relationship in my life wasn’t the one with my husband, my colleagues, my clients or even my family.

It was the one with myself.

That realisation began years of deep work; Therapy. Study. Coaching. Rebuilding. Relearning. Letting go of identities that no longer fit.

It wasn’t about blowing up my life. It was about aligning it. And from that alignment, everything expanded.

The Human Side

If you know me beyond the professional lens, you’ll know this:

I’m a theatre girl at heart.
I’ve stood on stage in world premieres.
I hold an Equity card.
Performance has always been part of my world.

Perhaps that’s why I understand masks so well.

These days, life looks very different. You’ll often find me walking in the hills with Mr M, an International Mountain Leader and a drummer, who has an uncanny ability to tell when I’ve “lost my sparkle.” We’ve travelled extensively, toured Europe on our motorbike, shared quiet weekends away, and built a relationship grounded in honesty rather than performance.

I visit my parents monthly.
I cheer my son on through his university journey.
I still love a stage, a story, a sense of adventure.

I believe strength and softness can coexist.
Ambition and intimacy can coexist.
Leadership and femininity can coexist.

And that’s the energy I bring to my work.

Why I Created Behind the Mask

Women began coming to me for relationship coaching.

But what became clear, every single time, was this:

The relationship wasn’t the root issue.

Identity was.

When a woman reconnects to herself:
Her standards rise.
Her boundaries strengthen.
Her communication sharpens.
Her magnetism returns.
Her leadership deepens.

Behind the Mask was born from that truth.

Not to fix marriages.
Not to rescue women.
Not to teach coping strategies.

But to restore sovereignty.

Today

Today, I work with high-achieving professional women who look successful but know they’re not fully expressed.

Women who are ready to:
Stop shrinking.
Stop over-performing.
Stop settling.
Stop hiding.

And start embodying who they truly are.

Creating your Blockbuster Life isn’t about drama.

It’s about alignment.

And alignment is powerful.

If you’re ready to remove the mask, not dramatically or destructively, but deliberately then let’s begin.

WHAT MY CLIENTS SAY

“I thought my marriage was over, I was convinced we had drifted too far apart and had nothing in common any more now our children are almost adults. Talking it over with Deb, she helped me examine these issues and also made me think about what my husband’s fears and perspective might be. This meant that when I plucked up the courage to have a discussion with my husband we were able to have a really good heart to heart and talk about what we both need in order to feel connected. We are now in a place where we can work to create a future together. It’s all about the process. Thank you Deb!”

Shona, East Anglia, UK

“During a difficult time recently I was lucky enough to have Deb to lean on. Deb was there for me and allowed me to express how I was feeling without any fears of being judged. She listened to me and was able to offer me sound advice in order for me to progress with my life goals and to develop my self-esteem. I was touched by the kindness, strength and care Deb showed me.”

Charlotte, Somerset, UK

“We’d reached a point where we really thought our only option was to split up. Since working with Deb we’ve made big changes. It’s had a positive impact on our family life and to us as a couple. We’ve become more conscious of things in our relationship and learned how to compromise where necessary. Thank you Deb”
